Ephesus: the pearl of Izmir

On Wednesday, the 26th of February we went to Ephesus. Staying in Izmir without going to Ephesus is unthinkable.

In the past it was a beautiful ancient Greek city, built by the Attic and Ionian Greek colonists. It was founded in the 10th century BC and abandoned in the 15th century AD. The romans continued to improve the city.

This is sightseeing at it’s finest! Wait for a sunny day and leave early. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
We could just feel history coming back to life.

Travelling from Bölge (Yasar University): 1h45

After one hour and a half we arrived at Selcuk, it is 3km away from Ephesus, so we took a domuch (mini bus) for only 2,5 lira per person.IMG_1800

When we arrived at Ephesus we were amazed how pretty it was, the entrance is 25 lira and you get a discount if you have a  student card.IMG_1805

The feeling you have is indescribable. Knowing that all this was built thousands of years ago.
